My client, a fast expanding innovator in advanced electro acoustic technology, is looking for an Acoustic Engineer to be based in Shenzhen, China, helping them to lead the production of engineering samples and provide interface to manufacturing partners in China to resolve manufacturing and production engineering issues, in accordance with the company’s standards and processes.

The key responsibilities for this position include

1.    Conduct approved Electro-Acoustic development work
2.    Lead the provision of and construct engineering samples (of products, product variants or concept demonstrators) for marketing and sales
3.    Establish and maintain effective interface to Product Teams
4.    Provide responsive support for manufacturing partners in China
5.    Contribute to the continuing capture, development and protection of the Electro-Acoustic Research Group knowledge base
6.    Commit to company values, ethics, safety, security, labour charging, and quality
7.    Contribute to total quality management/continuous process improvement initiatives

The right candidate should

1.    Have excellent English communication skills
2.    Degree qualified in engineering or applied science major with an Acoustics module within the programme
3.    3 years working experience related with acoustic engineering, manufacturing processes and procedures
4.    Have intuition for the operation of moving coil loudspeakers and miniature loudspeakers, understanding of the impact of loading mechanisms upon loudspeaker performance
5.    Have appreciation of auditory function, appreciation of the benefits of noise reduction, appreciation of acoustic safety and issues impacting upon auditory health
6.    Have the experience of practical engineering metrology, including an appreciation of the significance of frequency response measurements, signal to noise ratio and dynamic range as applied to measurement of Linear Time Invariant (LTI) systems.
7.    Have the familiarity with practical and theoretical aspects of audio frequency electronics (including filter implementation, canonical operational amplifier circuits, appreciation of power stages, etc) at ‘block’ level
