My client, a leading semiconductor company, specialising in analog and mix-signal ICs, is looking for an Application Engineer to be based in Shanghai, China, to help them to design in and support current and new integrated circuits in the telecommunications field.

Responsibilities:
- talk to customers - customer visits will be required - in order to help with the customer design-in of ASICs
- help with the board level development of new applications
- support existing products.

The right candidate should:

1. be degree qualified in engineering related major with good English AND Chinese communication skills, both in writing and speaking

2. have broad system level electronic design, device testing and problem solving skills with a high degree of software or embedded application knowledge and 3-5 years working experience in telecom industry

3. have good knowledge or relevant experience with SDH, router, clock, synchronisation, 1588 PTP related experience will be a plus

4. be able to take national and international (US and Europe) travel.
