Permanent - Mid Lothian

Silicon - Mixed-Signal / Analog / RF IC Design
Salary : Negotiable

Salary plus benefits
An opportunity has arisen for an Analog IC Design Engineer to join a company designing and manufacturing advanced analog power ICs for a broad range of product applications.

Situated in their Scotland design centre you will be involved in working on power conversion and power interface, including motor drive products. You will see a project from data sheet stage through to IC design and layout to bench evaluation and debugging.
Your responsibilities will include the following:

-Work with design management to estimate and schedule as well as identify critical circuit requirements
-Design subcells and provide specifications for subcells for others to design.
-Design top-level chip architecture with due consideration to performance, ESD, testability and size.
-Verify design with simulations and bench characterisation.
-Work with layout engineers to ensure design is efficiently laid out
-Work with product engineers in coordinating production test software
-Bench evaluate silicon to debug the design.
-Evaluate all qualification test results to highlight design shortfalls

Industry degree qualified you will have experience in Analog IC Design and knowledge of; Sub micron 80V BiCMOS process, Cadence's custom IC design environment, typical subcells such as op amps, ADC's, comparators, charge pumps, power output stages, simple logic and linear regulators. You will also have the ability to interpret and contribute to a device data sheet, generate die size estimates to allow for effective cost v performance comparisons.

Good communication skills required as well as the motivation to succeed in the area of Analog IC Design.
